The best Vancouver–Whistler itinerary often uses more than one mode. Match each segment to the job instead of renting a car, booking a coach or choosing private transportation automatically.

A rental car is a tool, not a default
For a central Vancouver stay, a vehicle can spend more time parked than useful. For Sea-to-Sky stops and regional trailheads, the same vehicle can become the most flexible option on the trip.
That is why mixed-mode itineraries are often best. Use transit in the city, then rent only for the section where flexibility actually matters. Or skip the rental entirely and use a coach or private vehicle to Whistler if your mountain stay is concentrated around the Village.
